My dog is attacking my chickens!

Sorry, to tell you this, but that Lab mix is never going to stop killing chickens if he gets a chance. Only option is to keep them forever seperated with something he can NEVER get thru. The lab instinct is too strong even with trained dogs. Sadly, I just had to drop mind permanantly, about a month ago, and gave away her daughter. Electric fences didnt work, shock collar,pfft, only thing that worked and that was putting her down

We've been quite fortunate, as my BIL has a Lab we dogsit often, in fact he's here now for 9 days. We've never had a problem with him chasing our free range chickens or ducks in all the years we've done this. He's now an old Lab and naps more frequently, he wakes up surrounded by the flock who has learned to ignore this big blonde brute in their midst.

I am keeping the girls in the coop unless i am home to make sure the bull mastiff isn't outside trying to dig out of the yard and into the coop.
