My dog licks my Chickens.

I have a 10 mo old Black Lab / Border Collie mix. Sweet little boy. Found him carrying a chicken around, then settles down and licks it from end to end. Poor bird was sopping wet. Not a scratch on it. He also loves to herd them back into the coop. I'm going to buckle down and get back on his "leave it" training. However, he too runs to me when I come out, so training will be difficult. So far, no damage has been done to the hens (besides psychologically, lol), but it only takes one heavy paw or nip. I'll keep checking in here to see if you all have any success in curbing your pooches of this habit. Thanks!

You could try Apple Bitter spray, although, I had a dog that *liked* it. haha
