My dog, Shadow, is 14 today! This "little" guy has been such a blessing in my life, and I believe God has sent him into to my life. The day we got him, we were actually getting a dog for my sibling. We went to a family's house that a litter of puppies for sale. As soon as I got out of the car he ran up to me, and followed me all around. After my sibling picked out a dog, we got in the car. Shadow put his paws on the footstep, realized he couldn't follow me in, and whined. I then asked, "Mommy, can I have this dog?" He's been my baby ever since. I have so many fond memories with him, but I'll only share a few.
One day, when I was very upset, I went up and hugged him, and cried. Although he loves hugs, he doesn't hug back often. That day he laid his head on my and whined, as if to say, "I don't know why you're crying, but I'm here for you." (One of my favorite stories)
He loves to lay on my lap, and he knows what "get up" means. Yet, instead of getting up, he will roll on his back and look at me like, "Is this what you want?"
Unfortunatly, he's now blind. One day I was trying to bring him into the house, and he insisted that he was going to go a certain way; had I let him go, he would've gone into a brick wall. Mr. Stubborn. He's ok thankfully.
