I've got two dogs, both dachshunds. Nipper is the most loving caring girl I have ever seen. The other day she was over in the corner of my brooder area and I couldn't see what she was up to. Apparently I had a baby bob escape the brooder and she was keeping it company. Had it trapped between her and the corner. The chick was dry and mad as heck, kept pecking at her but she never snapped at it or anything, just kept moving from side to side to keep it from running off. This same dog will bring me babies she finds out in the pasture behind us, all healthy and rarely even damp from her toting them. So far this year I've nursed 12 bunnies, 5 squirrels, and housed 3 armadillos.

The other one is male. Since his name is Idjit, that should tell ya all you need to know. Picture a hyperactive 3 year old with four legs and you have this dog. He barks at blowing leaves, howls when I take a shower, tries to bite raindrops and the mist from the water hose, and is under the impression that since the cat can climb a tree, so can he. Ya pet him on the head and you get a hollow echo. But at least he has good entertainment value.

1 Yorkie (Joy)
1 Lab/Border Collie (Willow)
and 4 purebred Labs (Chocolates: Cricket & Rain, Blacks: Stormy & Toby)

Cricket & Toby have a litter due in about a week, so our numbers will be increasing for a while.

Anyone want lab puppies?? lol
