My dogs killed my chickens!

So sorry you have to go through that--seems to be a common thread!

I really think that any dog that has ever attacked a chicken should not ever be allowed to have unsupervised access to them.
You need a very dog-proof coop and run, use welded wire (not chicken wire) and electric wire around the base and middle and top. Good luck and hope you never experience that again.

I really hate to post this, but a long time ago an old gentleman that I knew had a female German Shepherd kill one of his chickens. He took the chicken and permanently affixed the chicken around her neck (not to where the wire or whatever he used would hurt her). She wore that chicken for about two weeks...her dog buddies wouldn't even come near her...and she NEVER even looked at a chicken again. It sounds cruel and a negative way to train, but by golly it worked!

Honestly... all the rotten stuffs my dogs ate while walking with me.. I can't figure out how tying a dead chicken around their neck will not make them happier.....

once they start its hard to break them but ..penning them up untill they are ust to them was a good idea i saw someone post..

my grandpa once took the dea chicken and spanked his dog with it everytime i looked at the chickens for one day.He ever made the dog walk with him to the chicken and if he looked at them or sniffed one he woudl show him the dea on and spank it. and the dog never looked at the chickens again..so if you have the heart to spank the dog serveral times with a dead chicken it worked for him..me i not sure i could lol.
