My Drawings

Well yesterday I wanted to draw, but I could only draw stick people. Well I was bored and I started drawing an eye and it came out perfect! I was impressed because I don't have drawing skills and I'm not into art. Since then I've been drawing all day today and some came out good and some came out bad...it was MY decision whether I wanted them to look nice or bad and they key to that is.....Patience! Well here are all drawings I've done today and yesterday

I'll be uploading more pics of my drawings when I draw more

Well, trying to make that subject look realistic is sort of an oxymoron...

You might have a bit more confidence if you started with a more predictable subject...
Don't have to go all the way down to still life oranges (boring zzz) but maybe your pet, that you know very well and have pics from all angles of?

I've always had a devil of a time with eyeballs myself... doesn't help that my hand shoots for symmetry while nature doesn't. Grr.

I think you've got a very good start.

No I think you did great, WAY better than I could and I've been trying for years and years.
I just cannot get what's in my head onto paper.

But, you did pic a pretty unique subject that rarely looks the same two days in a row.
For me, I'd rather master a subject that is masterable.... if that makes ANY sense at all.

Of course, this is from the one too chicken to even try the orange.

Makes me happy to see someone drawing and having the courage to show their work! I love drawing, especially in pencil, but with so many other things in life, art is kind of on the back burner.

There are some great books out there that will help you develop an "artist's eye," seeing true angles, proportions, negative space, etc., instead of what your brain tells you should be there. You are off to a great start! Keep it up and definitely save your drawings (always dated) even if you don't like the way they turn out. You'll be able to look back and see how much you have progressed!
