Well I wonder if it could have something to do with where the eggs are laid. If they are laid in the desert region and hatch in the desert region, OR if they were laid in a rainforest and hatched in a rainforest...then they have a direct success rate related to their environment at lay. Maybe that's why shipped eggs get poorer results even when the PO doesn't try to kill them
I have had some shipped from hundreds of miles that didn't do as good as the ones shipped from under a hundred miles away. It's theoretically possible there is an environmental influence. Could influence the shells thickness too. i dunno just rambling....
