My d'uccle rooster's foot seems broken?

I have a year old Belgian d'uccle rooster - he has really long foot feathers/barbs and they're gorgeous, he's show quality but I dont show chickens he's my pet. He started hobbling today (Tuesday) and wants to sit down a lot, holding the foot up and walking on one leg. so it seems to hurt him . I picked him up and his right foot wrapped around my finger but the left hurt one didn't move. I dont see anything but ......

can chickens "sprain their ankle"? does anyone have experience with this? I cant just run to the vet (yes I have a local Chicken Vet) due to all this mess. Any advice would be helpful....do i quarantine? thank you so much stay safe!
 
For now you can soak his foot in epsom salt a couple times a day, and if he's having trouble standing you can make him a sling by cutting two holes in a piece of fabric for his legs and then hanging it from the top of his cage. If you do this make sure he can reach food and water at all times and that his feet can touch to ground. If he has any open cuts you should put some antibacterial cream on them to stop his foot from becoming infected, otherwise he should heal up fine, although he might have a limp.

thanks the epsom salts are a great idea.... he's not in a cage i have a HUGE probably 100ft long x 15ft wide run down the side of my house...he's in there with 4 d'uccle hens, and, 1 silkie rooster, 2 polish hens and 3 Ameraucana hens
 
They can sprain legs and suffer fractures. If you could locate the injury to a joint or a bone, it would help, in case splinting might help. Separate him in a dog crate with food and water to rest the leg. Look over his foot pad for any sore or scab. Here is a skeleton to identify bones:

hey so his foot is getting worse, and it seems HOT to touch. I'm thinking Bumblefoot now. How in the world do you wrap gauze around a d'uccle's feet...with all the feathers? i am going to soak in epsom salts and a little Brazilian propolis in the water...and then put organic honey on a gauze pad and wrap his foot up. please any help would be greatly appreciated - he's so cute i hate for something to happen to him and his 3 girls love him around
