My duck doesnt like water

Khaki Campbells are like that.

Ours were scared to death of water 'til they were about... oh, four months old or so.

Now they love it.

I have a disabled duck that was terrified of water from the very first time I gave her a swim. I ended up buying a big tub- and filling it up and getting in there with her. It was the only way I could get her to relax enough to enjoy the water. Being disabled it was very important she be able to have a bath every night to keep her clean. It took a few times of sitting holding her in the tub before she would actually allow herself to float- but once she overcame her fear- there was no stopping her. She gets so excited when she hears the bath getting filled now- as she has learnt to associate that sound with her bath time.

hmmm well if she doesnt think she has the oil glands yet for swimming, how can I tell if thats it. The other thing is that we have a bath tub but i dont know how pleased my parents would be if i brought my lil ducky in to take a bath with me. I could give it a try when they arent home but i dont want her jumping out and running around the house and making a mess.

I got three call duck mutts. Doog loves water, never wants to come out the pool, needs to be scooped out when it's bedtime. Mr Snoogles likes it about normal. Rory hates it. Rory prefers to stand on the side and dunk his head in. They were all brought up the same, it's just their little personalities showin!!

Today we got some rain/snow mix and Ferdenand would just poke his head out of his little hut and wouldnt go out into the rain

I was like hey buddy your a duck
