Sorry... your aunt is sadly misinformed and LUCKY her birds are alive.

Go get some Purina flock raiser... and maybe some brewers yeast. He needs some niacin in addition to A LOT more nutrition! You are not the first one who was given bad information by people they trust. I promise... change your diet, change the birds life!

Start with a scrambled egg... loaded with nutrients!

I tried making scrambled eggs for them however they wouldn't eat it. Are there any alternatives for a day or two?

Grit, and anything with protein content, plus peas. Peas help a lot.

If it were me, I’d give peas, lettuce, oat groats, and grass that has gone to seed. Grass seed has a lot of protein actually.
