My duck is laying in October???

I have a question for anyone, what are the dates your duck will go broody/clucky and what will they often do, I know they like to sit on their eggs and change the position but I don't know if I should put food and water right next to her or leave her to leave the eggs and get the water which isn't too far away from her?

Did she just start laying? If so, I would collect her eggs and try to keep her from going broody for 2 reasons...first, new layers are not the best for hatch rates or hatching healthy babies, they gotta work the kinks out and get their bodies used to laying and secondly, it's going into shorter days and colder temps, you want Mom to be plump and healthy to prepare for winter. If you live somewhere that doesn't have a cold winter then you may not have to consider that, tho. Of course, they are your birds and you do as you wish with them in this regard, just FYI. And by the way, Welcome to BYC. If she does go broody she'll come off nest twice a day to swim and eat. So it's up to you on food n water in coop. I know ducks are messy with water and ya want nest area as clean as possible tho.
