Here is the duck run, you will see that daddy duck is outside. He is a bit peeved as mumma duck had been out with him for a rest and I put her back in with the littlies!
They are catching their last bit of sun before dusk

Bantymum they are sooooo cute! I really miss when mine were little like that. They grow so much faster than chickies!

Hi Terri, yes it has just turned spring, they wont go near the red brooder lamp in their little shelter, they had just had a swim, theres some windbreaks there by way of white wood sheets along the right hand side.
Do you believe that one NIGHT she took them for a swim??how cruel is that, they now have some feathers coming.
Its a glorious day here today.
I feel that even though they are cold when they get wet that they dry off quickly and huddle up together.
As you can see, mum just sits there, slacker!

If I were you I'd pen them and momma at night so they can't follow her out and she can't take them swimming. Ducklings are tougher than chicks, but they still need some heat for awhile and shouldn't get chilled.

Hi Katy, yes thanks, she hasnt done it since so hopefully she wont again, i was watering my vegies which are close to the run and she heard the hose and came running out with the littlies in tow!!!
Hi mlheran, I think they are calls!! I got them as "bantam mallards" so is this the same as a call duck?
