My duck laid her second egg yesterday with a 15 days gap between the first and the second. The right side one is the duck egg and left one is chicken egg.
The shell is stretched out on one edge of the egg. The inner membrane is not damaged and it prevents the yolk moving to the stretched side. There is an empty space inside the stretched end. The shell was little pushed in to the empty space, when I found it. There are small cracks on the pushed edge.
The first egg was similar except the stretched out shell was much softer like a skin and I was able to fold the stretched part without cracking it.
The shell seems to the hard except the stretched part. The stretched part of second egg is too better compared with the first one.
Is it normal for the beginners? What about the 15 days gap between first and second egg. Today she didn't lay any egg.
I have already added egg shells with her feed and she seems not interested in it. She free ranges.
She is 10 - 11 months old.
