my duckies are ferocious! :P

So I have a question for other duck peoples who probably know better than me! okay so, my sister has a dog and she brings him over sometimes. He likes to go see my babies but, whenever he gets near my ducklings they attempt to attack him. my sister's dog (toby) is a smaller dog and he is not trying to provoke them he's just curious about them and he would never hurt them. so my question is, should I let my ducks attack him? because I want them to be cautious of dogs, yet I live right next door to some pit bulls so I would rather them not to agitate a large beastie and get hurt. That would make me die inside of sadness.
so should i let them chase away toby?

They regard him as a possible threat and are preempting the possibility of danger. No, I would not let them attack him because he doesn't deserve that. Just keep them separated - that would be humane.
