My duckling has big bump on top of foot no scab could it be early bumblefoot

I don't know anything about ducks but, I think bumblefoot affect the bottom of the foot. Please go to "Other Backyard Poultry", above. You will find threads for ducks, geese, guineas etc. The duck
people surely know much more than I do.

You can also post at "emergencies, diseases, injuries, cures," thread - show good photos and all details - for instance how long has he had the bump? did it show up just recently, or has it been getting larger over time, etc.

I hope someone will be able to diagnose the problem and provide treatment options.

No scab , not warm to touch like infection I just don't know . I never had ducks . I just started caring for them when they decided to make my yard their home

That looks like it might be MS, Mycoplasma Synoviea a wicked bacteria infection that causes swelling in the foot joint, generally in the left foot however. What happens is the synovial fluid leaks out of the sheaths of the leg tendons and into the surrounding tissues. It can also leak into the pad of the foot.

You might want to post this in the ducks section for more help. I know with chickens, MS requires antibiotics. But I know that ducks are sensitive to some of these meds. He may have just injured it too and it is now swelling. So ask the Duck experts about this...

Help!! My duckling has similar problems. I think her foot got stuck in the door somehow and there is a big ( and I mean really big) purplish bluish bubble o her web. It looks almost like a blood blister but she also doesn't react when I touch it. Its the same one the underside of her web. She is about 51/2 weeks old. Help!!
