My duckling stopped walking

Yeah we did. Like I said, it seem like we were seeing positive results, then he just died. The missus had checked on him probably 2-3 hours earlier - very sudden...

A necropsy is the way to know for sure. My vet told me to take bodies (refrigerated, not frozen - I used a cardboard box and blue freezer blocks and towels) to the state university where there is a veterinary pathology lab. They did the necropsy for free.

Hi all,
Just an update for anyone who may run into this problem. Well, we had some bad luck. The little duckling that went off his legs seemed to be really doing fine. We were seeing a steady improvement in leg strength, he was eating well, and seemed very alert. But then I went in to check on him the other day (about 5 days after it started), and he had died. Not sure what happened - any readers have any ideas?

The exact same thing happened to me this morning. Our duck had been recovering for over two weeks and was almost able to walk again. Found him dead this morning.
