Please help me figure out what to do with my special baby. He was born with his leg backwards & there was no way I was going to kill him. He had personality from minute one. Now that he is bigger, I have to watch him watch the other ducklings play & it breaks my heart. Plz tell me there is something I can do.

Can he use his legs at all? may just have to love him the way he is unless you can afford to take him to an avain vet and see if they can do something. How about swimming can he swim or use his legs to move around in the water? He looks very special.

He hops around on 1 foot. And yes he can swim pretty good. He tries to pull his foot forward so he can walk on it but he can't seem to do it. I think it may be his hip.

His hip is rotated. I'm thinking a good avain vet maybe able to break the leg and put it right, of course just a guess. do you have a veterinary university [teaching ] close to you? if you don't know check around because sometimes they will do things for free because it's teaching. Sure would be worth checking into. Bless his heart for trying.

I live in Washington state so we have the UW which is rated very high in the nation for their vet university. Didn't think about that. Thank you! I will try that.

How is he doing ? My Jerry who just hatched this morning can't put weight on one leg.
