I have 3 Cayuga babies that will be 6 weeks old on Thursday. Every now and then I’ll hear a good solid quack, but they do a lot of chattering and they often whistle like a person! Is that normal?? I don’t know who is quacking yet and who is murmuring, but the random wolf whistle from my ducks is quite strange to hear lol. They weren’t having it for photos this am, they were very busy preening.

Pretty babies! I've never had Cayugas, and none of my runners wolf whistle. Interesting!
Thank you! It doesn’t happen all the time, but they’ll occasionally whistle like people, and it’s the strangest thing lol. I wonder if my husband whistles to them when I’m not around 😂

My Anconas whistle. Mostly it's first thing in the morning when they're going out to the brooder, but sometimes they do it when "exploring" too. They stop doing in at around two months old. I've never had Cayuga, but I'd think it's a duckling thing for them too.
