You should probably take her to the vet, they'll know what to do if it's getting worse. I don't have a duck so I can't give any real advice... good luck!

@lovemystripe257 A vet is best, but in any case - if the leg got better then worse I doubt it is broken.

I think it is infected.

She will need oral or injectable antibiotics a.s.a.p. And I would start right now with an Epsom salt compress followed with antibiotic cream on the leg and foot. Do not just put her in a tub with Epsom salt - it is a laxative and ducks drink tub water.

If you can upload photo's that might help.

If it is bumblefoot, I would let her float in a tub of lukewarm water for half an hour, then put clear - clear, not brown - iodine in the middle of the swelling. Take a look at this.

Thank you for the help. I will send a picture. It is all swollen up and bubbley and she wont walk on it. We have tried to get her to use her leg to build muscle but she tends to refuse and lay down.

its her left foot and it has been like this for about a month
we took her from the pond and put her in a cage

From all I've read it doesnt seem like bumble foot, theres no scab and it is huge

That looks like an infection to me. I suppose one could argue about scab or no scab. The duck needs antibiotics - oral - and a good long soak, in Epsom salt compress if possible or at least lukewarm water. Then apply a few drops of clear iodine to the bottom of the foot under the most swollen part. I would probably then apply triple antibiotic ointment without painkiller to the foot and leg three times daily and always right before bedtime. After five or six days I would check for a dark spot where the clear iodine was placed, and see if there is something that can be gently removed like the link I posted.

A good duck vet is best - I always try to remember to write that.

In any case, that looks infected to me. There may be a break, but the swelling looks like infection.

@Miss Lydia @casportpony any thoughts?

I think it looks infected to Amiga I would follow your instructions. And not wait any longer to treat since this has been going on so long.
hopefully @casportpony can give info on what antibiotic would be best.
