My ducklings, which are almost 8 weeks now won't eat any special treats I make up for them? I make them a nice plate of scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, and oranges and they don't touch it...I throw in some watermelon and they don't eat that either. Anyone else experience this? I am used to my chickens who will eat anything!

Also...I am new to ducks...when do we stop calling them ducklings?

Thank you,

Candice

I try different treats and have found mine pretty much only like Romaine lettuce, chopped tomatoes, Thawed (frozen) corn and peas which they get every nite.
and their Duck grower. I still on occation try something new . In the winter i buy live crickets ~~ they luv them .

My ducklings will eat anything (my toes being an example.) They love the homemade plain yogurt I make. Maybe try mixing their normal food with the treats.

Mine have eaten everything Ive put out for them apart from scrambled eggs. I have big cookie trays that I keep outside and empty their salads or what ever I make them onto them so they all get a bit. The day I emptied scrambled eggs onto them they all came running and put on the brakes. They walked round those cookie trays all day talking it over like they do. They never touched any of it but during the day I saw the cats eating it and the wild birds and crows but the ducks...no way, they thought it was the boogie man

I always pick some clover out of the yard and cut it with scissors into a small bowl of water. They seem to like anything to do with water, filtering for food is no exception.

They did eat the peas I gave them...thanks for the suggestion! I will have to pick up some romaine for them from the store next time I go. Has anyone tried feeder goldfish in their "ponds" for their ducks?
