My Easter candy melted...

Sounds like mom is gonna have to go back to the store and dad is going to be in a chocolate coma by the end of the weekend

Hey! At least you remembered the darn chocolate!! I have to run to town today or tomorrow and hope there is something left. Small town little selection. My only "baby" is 15 but he would be crushed if I didn't have anything for him. I actually miss the days when he believed in all that fun stuff

My 14-year old wistfully asked me if she was getting an Easter basket this year.
She's had a rough year, so I said yes. I was waffling on the issue anyway and had about 1/2 a basket's worth of stuff anyway.

maplesky7, if you were closer I'd swap out bunnies with you. My family will eat anything chocolate, and my daughter would

at the thought she was eating a 'monster mutant bunny'.

Chicksdigit, when my sis & bro & I outgrew the Easter bunny we started taking turns hiding the eggs from each other. It was a hoot! Until the year we hid one so well that Mom found it in July. She was not amused at the time, but its a source of great laughter for us now!

No "dad"... I mean, once there was but not anymore.

I could totally see me and my 3 sisters hiding the eggs on each other.... that is soo funny. We made inappropriate Christmas cookies once we were teens... aaah the fun we had.

I made the choice to tell my girls the truth about Santa, Easter bunny, tooth fairy early on when there was a daddy and he was of certain opinions.... but they still like to pretend and he's gone...so we all play pretend. Why the heck not... and they are all about the loot but I still don't want them to see their loot until it's time... they've been sensitive lately with everything that's going on and a melted bunny could possibly make them cry. oh sigh....

One year when all four kids were teens, we let them boil, color and hide the eggs! We couldnt afford baskets so we all went down the road to a little park and they used the bags for scooping poop to collect eggs in! Then they discovered they hadnt boiled all of them enough so they had easter egg chucking contest into the Clackamas? Willamette River ? in Oregon! Good Times and fond memories!
