My Easter Egger has suddenly died

We found my EE dead in the coop this morning when we went to check for eggs. I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on what may have caused this and if there is any danger to the rest of my flock of BR and RIR mixes. She was beautiful and I'm so sad she's gone.

You'd need to have a vet do a necropsy to know for sure. It could be anything and there's no way of knowing whether there's any risk without tests.

Have you checked her body for bumps or missing feathers? How old was she?
