My EE chickie needs a time-out!!! IF I didnt know I'd think rooish

behavior?? IDK, 1st time with chicks so maybe not but my 1 roo (australorp) I can TOTally penpoint...stands/walks like a roo (even at a 2 days old!) nosey and protectant already--wings/stance/more comb--just everything screams roo!

This EE, she is downright MEAN--picks on almost everyone but her GLW friend (there the 2 biggest) BUT her feathering is actually FASTER than everyone else (i thought i remembered faster feather is usually with the pullets)

SO, do EE feather/grow faster usually? Particularly more naughty? She even pecked me! Deliberately I might add...I was holding her and she wanted back in with friends...I wanted to smack her little fuzzy butt bottuM!!!

Anyone?

I am by no means an expert as this is all new for me. However, I just picked up 2 RIR, 2 PR and 1 EE and the EE is definitely more spunky and active and just a tad bigger...I think it's because she stands so tall, like she KNOWS she's #1. I'll be getting more next week...it'll be interesting to see if they are the same or not.

My number 1 (of only two lol) is a brat! She acts cute then jumps on top of her poor brooder mate without warning.

My EE are a year old and I don't remember if they feathered faster then others. My EE's are very sweet,but don't like to be picked up much. My EE roster is my "Good" roo, He never goes after grand kids. My sussex rooster has to be watched or he will sneak up and get the kids from behind. when they were young and I had too many roosters they would fly on my head or shoulder to get away from the roosters. Have fun with your chicks. they are such fun!!!

I have 2 ee's they were hatched last June, they just laid their first eggs 2 weeks ago! I had about given up!!!! They are not friendly at all, leave my yard continuously, they fly amazingly well and are uncatchable!!! But at least they have enough sense to come home! Though I worry when they cross the street to visit our neighbor!!

5 of my 2 week old chicks are EE. There are two that are of the chipmunk-looking variety, and those two girls are noticeably bigger and more feathered than their "sisters." One of them is also much more active than the rest of the chicks. She is the bravest, the climbiest (if that's a word), starting to fly around the brooder first...just generally seems to be in charge of things. I wouldn't say she's mean. But she isn't sweet like some of the others. The other 3 EE are more reddish not as stripey and they are super mellow.
