My 20 week old EE has had a bit of a problem since well...since I noticed it. She’s fine healthy solid weight. Living in my flock she’all be just fine. Here’s the weird thing at first I thought it was her beak but no. She will peck & peck missing the target a lot. If I hold a grape with my fingers no problem anything in my hand she can get but it sometimes takes a couple tries. She eats her feed I watch her swallow. At times when I throw treats on the ground she’ll just walk away in frustration. Just now I threw in dried mealworms she cocked her head and acted as if she couldn’t see them. I did flinch test with her I know she sees she’ll alert when birds fly over ect. Anyone ever have a chicken with a similar problem?????

No don’t think so I noticed this when she was like 3 weeks old before her muffs. It’s sad when all the others gobble up worms and she just looks and tilts her head and just looks up at me like “what” how old is your Silkie does she get along okay?

Hey thanks for asking. She’s doing well. Solid build and good weight. I even trimmed her cheek puffs but she’s still the same. She misses almost all the time takes her forever to eat. Counted one time and she pecked one sunflower seed 19 times before she got it. She does OK when I hold something between my fingers but it still takes her like...5 tries. Poor baby~at least she’s in the right environment to be a special needs chicken. I watch out for her. She’s just such a love lump
