My Egg Hatching Journal~Chicks Due Today!~

You can take a clean sponge, rolled up shirt or other, and open the bator FAST and stick it in. The alternative, and probably better way, is to use a straw to insert more water through the vent hole. Mush less exposure that way for the eggs. Then DO NOT open the 'bator again!

I know it's sooo tempting- I just went through the interminable wait a week ago- with my nose about 1" from the top!

Good hatching vibes sent!

Wet rags or sponges will bring it right up. It almost can't be too high right at hatch but low will give you dried membranes and failure to hatch...

Add them quick and shut the bator... then wait... here come chickies!

Ok today is the day they shuld be hatching and so far no signs of life. When should I worry???

I had a temp drop the last couple days, about 96 and it took me awhile to get it back up there. It happened when I removed my turner. Will this slow me down or will it kill the embryos?

I was so sad I cried, I know I'm a baby. I really don't know how they all died but now I have one lonely chicky.

Chickenzoo I would like to get some more eggs and try again.

Don't be sad----1 chick is better than no chicks, and its a really cute one!!!!

Update us with pics and don't lose heart--they might've gotten shaken or something in transit--it's not always something you do wrong.
