MY EGGS AND SUCH. PLEASE HELP.

Hey everyone, hope you're having a decent Monday!
So i've been feeling very discouraged lately [this is my first hatch ever} ,but i decided to candle a couple of my eggs last night..
And i saw a very faint little red ring in the yolk of a couple of the call duck eggs. but nothing in the muscovy eggs.
So, my question... since the muscovy ducks take longer to hatch and stuff.. does that mean they take longer to develop... could that be why i dont see anything yet? by the way im now on day4... i think.

Has anyone else hatched two different breeds at the same time that have a different hatch time?


I feel silly asking questions like this. I just honestly have no idea what im doing and im learning as i go here.

Not sure about your question about muscovies devoloping slower, but I think you are candling to early, wait till day 7 before you get glum!

@MelissaRenee , I wouldn't be too concerned about where your Muscovy eggs are development-wise at this point; as you know, Muscovy eggs take approximately a week longer to hatch than eggs from mallard-derived breeds, so at four days, there probably wouldn't be much to see. I do my first candling at 10 days, and even then, if any eggs are "iffy", I leave them in until the next candling, when I'll know for sure if they're not developing.
