I have 13 eggs in lockdown due to start hatching tomorrow. I just heard them cheeping! This is the first time I've heard eggs chirp before I could see an external pip. Now I'm totally in love with them already!

also have chicks due to hatch tomorrow 12-4-11.
I have 2 pips already and I can hear them cheapen i n there............. This is so much fun to watch, this will be my 4th hatch. The first 2 hatches were good, the last one was bad not one chick hatched:( it was my fault I moved them into another incubator for the hatch and it had no fan in it , I could not get the heat even and bad thermometer. I wont try that again.......... My chicks in there now are silkies.

Cmom, what a bunch of adorable babies you have there!

@happyhour, that's very cool, mine are silkies too and I love them! Can't wait till mine pip! You should share pics when they're out!

@ducklover1, a guinea just started laying for me, go figure this time of year. I have no idea if fertile but put 4 in the incubator a few days ago. Good luck with yours!

shayna where did you get your silkie eggs from or are they your own eggs? I got mine from Bobbi Porto. I am lucky enough to live fairly close enough to her to avoid the dreaded post office. Still just 2 pips
Where are you in the mid west? We are from Ohio and now Florida.

These are mine, but I have hatched out shipped eggs before. It can be a challenge. I'm out of Iowa. Brrrrrr. I like FL.

I saw your add earlier, I want a show girl also. They are just way cool looking. One of my favorite birds in my flock here is a beautiful peach colored turken. I did not like them at first but now love them. I have read a bit on the show girls and how it takes the silkies and turkens to make them. I am assuming that it would take a few generations to get the right look?????/ i just know I will lock the turken in with the silkies and see what they come up with????
Time to go star at the eggs..
