I thought for sure this whole batch of eggs were goners because my two year old messed with the thermostat and at one point it got up to 113 and another dropped to 65. I moved them away from her reach and kept incubating...after all they had less than a week left I may as well give them a chance. They are due to hatch tomorrow and I hear chirping today!
And of course today is the first time it occurs to me: they have no room. My incubator (little giant still air no turner) is full of eggs, lying on the wire, most touching the others on all sides. Do they need to be able to roll some? Do the chicks need room to squirm out? If so...should I risk getting in there and spacing them some? That doesn't sound right. It's probably okay and I'm just freaking for no reason, but would someone please tell me so? I've hatched 10 guineas but with a lot less eggs, and these are my first chicks. Thank you!
