My eggs are here! Now I need help 1st. time doing this.

I put X's on one side and 0's on the other side of the egg in pencil. I just lay mine down on the plastic tray in the Brinsea and turn them from an X to an O and then the next time the O back to the X. A hen has the eggs flat under her so if you don't have the turner to work with laying them flat is fine. I keep the big end towards the back of the bator and the pointy end tips towards the front if that helps give you a visual.

OK ,
That is what I was thinking. It seemed right to me. I was just making sure. My bator has egg racks. I have them small side down- lg. end up. That is what I was told and read. Clock wise or counter clock wise or how ever you want to turn them? I'm thinking clockwise would be better for me. I'm sorry if I sound like I'm in over my head. I just like to have things just so and I can only learn if I try and ask ?"s .....all the time!

You don't have to turn the "eggs" with the Brinsea. This is what you do: Eggs are EASY TO TURN during incubation as the whole incubator is just rocked from side to side – hence the Octagonal cabinet ends. The auto-turner does it automatically but if you didn't get yours just rest it flat first, then turn it to one side for the next turn, then the other side. then back upright.

Wish me luck. Best of wishes to all hatching now.

i have a stupid question... do you take the turner out for lock down?

You do not want them turned from day 18 to hatch. If you can not turn yours off on the 18th day I would take it out, unplug it or something so the eggs don't get turned on you. You can PM speckledhen Queen of the Flock/Moderator she helped me with a ? . Also anyone that you see posting/ online will help you. This is my 1st time hatching so you might want to make sure with someone else too. Good Luck Hatching!

OK ,
I tried candling to make sure my flashlight was bright enough. From what I could tell all but 2 had veins. You could see everything good on a few. There is a chance that I'm wrong. But I will be getting a brighter flash light before it is the real candling day. I was going to test one or two but I could not help it. Oh well. I hope I get that many! That would be great !
