My Embroidery Thread

Only the length that I've been working on the quilt.
I've slowly developed an interest in it over the years.
My grandmother would give me little cross stitch samplers to do when I was little and we had a couple at church who were professional civil war reenactors, they'd sometimes take us with them to the reenactments. The wife would teach in historical skills that every woman would know 150 years ago, such as embroidery, lacemaking, drafting patterns and how to process a goose.
My sewing machine also hates my guts and will act up if I attempt to use it so I've gotten really good at hand sewing over the years.
Sorry for the rambling!

I found the cross stitching to be boring, and toward's the end it would make my eyes cross. I prefer the satin stitching as my favorite when I do it.

Love it I do alot of cross stitch .and crochet blanks love seeing your work

An update on my latest embroidery, learning more stiches but I'm slowly losing the will to finish the whole dang thing. My friend had a girl, I did spring colors that aren't showing up well here, salmon pink, lavender, soft yellow and light aqua.
The swan needs something, as does the carosel pony. I'm currently working on the Luna moth, the stump work took 2 nights and the eye spots are metalic.
