the wild chickens are something of a hodge podge of breeds they roost almost 50 feet in the trees if they are allowed!
 
Welcome = you are not bonkers - you have simply been "bitten" like i have - I am the same boat - and have chickens now - fenced in two acres and just a billy goat for my girls were all in heat - so 150 days from now - babies! There are alot worse addictions that you could have - just have fun with it!
 
I'm actually starting to contemplate using the pastured poultry practices for raising broilers but I haven't a clue how to start into that venture. I think I can and could make money raising them in this area but getting started is the hardest part in any industry home or commercial. Really the only hold up is marketing and processing more internet research will be required I guess.
 
Nice to see some peeps from around the area might have to make a pit stop some time.
