My Favorite Chick

Cute. How many chicks do you have? How come she's your fav? I have 8 chicks around the same age and my favorite changes from one week to the next! They're all so sweet.

She looks like what my Daffodil looked like as a chick

This is her when she was two months old.

She's a laying adult now.

She looks like our Smudge! Also one of the favorites. She would always hop the brooder side to come sleep on my lap. Dunno what kind of chicken she is, as she was from a barnyard mix. She got called lazy when she was un-zipping, 10 mins later she was out of the egg.

I have 6 -2 amberlinks, 2 black australorps and 2 buff orpingtons. Della is the friendliest of the bunch and full of personality. She is the first to run over to see me and fly up out of the brooder when I open it. Keeping my fingers crossed she stays a “she”. We bought all straight runs so not sure the odds are in our favor, but so far no cockerel signs on any of them.

Thanks! The little bugger came out of the egg looking like she was used on a mechanic’s hand. So cute!
