My favorite hen is missing... Update IS BACK & BROODY! after 2 days!

Oh yeah - That girl is BROODY!

When you watch her return to her nest - do not act like you are watching/following. Some of my girls will walk forever, until you get tired of "waiting" for them to re-nest and leave.

If you can find her spot - hopefully you can secure her where she is, or move her at night/early morning (before any light) into a plastic dog kennel.

YAY!!! Congratulations!!! I'm so glad she's safe...

And she is definitely broody...that's exactly the "Turkey" look that my BO and Silkie get. That's how they protect their babies...the babies hide behind Mom and her big poofy wings.

HOLY COW! Look at that scary broody!

Check out Violet: Same stance and everything....

I look foward to your pictures of "The Army of Nanites"

I thought I did a really great job searching our property... but, obviously I didn't

yea! I will get my hubby and son to help me this weekend... fingers crossed we find it. If I do find it, I guess I will move her and the eggs to my broody mama set up (aka an old, modified for chickens, rabbit hutch). I've never done this before... so any advice to make this go smoothly would be most appreciated!
I still can't believe she's back... I still can't believe she might really be broody...
I've never been soooo happy about being soooo wrong!

I had to go to work and sure enough she is gone again. But, I am certain that I will find her. Now that I'm not looking for evidence of an attack, but for a nest it'll be much easier to keep on a lookin'.
I really am so happy to have this forum... my friends are not chicken people... so they just don't get it... so it's awesome to have you guys, my chicken people

Ahh! I'm so glad you got her back, and whoa. Your Nan looks just like my Copper!

Oh, I'm so thrilled! I read this thread last nite and have wondered throughout the day if Nan had shown up yet- HOORAY!

I LOVE good news! Hope you and your fellas can be successful and finding Nan's hiding place and get her to a safe spot. BTW, oh yeah, that's the broody puff for sure!

Don't they look enormous when they've got every feather standing at attention?
