Ken too. I don't even have to say anything, he just does it. He told me about the chicks, and this morning I said I want those polish. He grinned and said let me take a nap and then we will go get them. I wish his nap would hurry up and be over!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DW just took DD "Easter shopping" I should have snuck the credit card out of her pocket.

I'm supposed to be taking a nap because I got no sleep last night and the trip to Costco wore me out.

Think long and hard about the turkeys.....

I did the same thing, went to the feed store, came home with a bunch of babies, well.....

got 2 turkeys, one died young, but the other turned out to be a TOM. Keep in mind, turkeys from the feed store are intended to be used as food. It is almost impossible to regulate their weight and their legs will not hold them if they get fat. I loved my Tom "Puffy" very much and he lived for almost 3 years, but he was aggressive to everyone but me and we had to put him down when his legs gave out. Putting down a turkey is no easy task, I had a REAL hard time finding a vet that would and I would have had to take him there (a 40lb turkey!) And I live in farm country. Fortunately, my hubby was able to muster the inner strength to end it with one shot to the head. completely painless! We buried him in the orchard and hubby planted a navel orange in his memory. Now We say we'll have turkey flavored oranges!
Moral of the story- Turkeys can be difficult pets.

Turkeys would be raised for food here. We have a local butcher that if you take the bird to him he will process it, clean it, get it a pretty lookin. So that is not an issue with us.
