OH wow. Our last posts must have "crossed in the mail". lol. I didnt see the trouble with the chicks. sooo sorry you lost a couple Thats rough. But I'm glad the others are doing ok now. When are the grandbabies going to visit???Have they seen them yet?

Evan and Katie have seen them. Had to change the plan. We're waiting for a call from Kendra's doctor to see if she can be around them yet. There's a possibility of surgery on her feet on Monday, so her nurse was concerned about it. Kendra is currently in 2 casts on each leg right now, so we have no way to give her a bath before surgery...the best we'd be able to do is to wash her up. She has plaster casts from hip to toe, and fiberglass casts over those. I figure I can by more chickens, but I can't replace our Kendra, and there is a very slight risk of her carrying staph into the OR. Frankly, the way I figure it is that the casts come off the morning of surgery and they'll be taking all the usual pre-surgery cleaning precautions, but if there's even one little staph germ hitching a ride it ain't worth it. Even Katie and Evan had to scrub like crazy and I made them use hand sanitizer too after they each held a chick and
before I'd let them walk to their homes. LOL

The doctor called. He said, "Let that baby see and hold those chicks! I'm sure she'll be washed up well before she comes in and again pre-op. so no worries!" So Kendra met the chicks a few minutes ago.

What nice pictures! Glad Kendra got to meet the chicks, she looks fascinated by them. Good luck and best wishes with the surgery, hope everything goes well.
