My first and second coop as my building skills improve! A summers growth!

So I decided this year to get back into the chicken game. It has been years since I have owned outdoor birds! When I was a teenager I kept them as a hobby and a way to find peace!
I am glad to be to the point in my life where I can finally do it again. How ever, it is like an addiction! I grew fast and well, I have had to learn how to build!
I couldn't see myself spending money on prebuilt ones because they were no where close to what i wanted or needed.
So here Are the coops. I wanted to share because as a non-builder, I think people should know that if I can do it, anyone can!

A summers growth!

I started building in the garage! Back wall and front wall.



Then stared with the outside



Walls going up




Inside Three different areas.


Then the walls finished and the roof put on

Great.... Now the new chicks get to get out of my garage!
Now I need to think about the run.............

So the Run went up



Great! Now I can spend time finishing small details... Wait,,, now here comes the peacocks... Or lord! I cant stop!


And then a few more...


Well, I know knew this was too small and need to make it work better so building of the new run begins...



Almost done!!!!! Wait,,,, no.... Now I need to have some pheasants!

Oh... I think the other half is going to start getting overloaded with my birds!


So The pheasant run is built.

I think I am done....
Ha,,,, Found some more beautiful peas...



I think they need more space out side! So here comes an addition!


Phew...... Oh no... The dogs are having problems brining in the Tics!!!
Look at this face!!! How could you not help him and his brother.


So what better way to rid yourself of a growing tic problem than 20 guineas!
Oh boy!!! Now my Chick-ma-hall is just to small..... I need to build another house for just the chickens... And it starts all over again!

I started this one outside and decided on a different plan.

Now finish the walls



This time I want real floors .... Easier to clean!!!





And now the roof



And now happy chickens!!



Now I needed to build an extra large run for them so they have room when they are not free-ranging







whew!!! I think I am done!!...
Wait... ARGH!!! Egg eaters,,, and hens that want to sleep in the nest boxes.... How can I fix this!!!
Lets build a roll out nesting box system and give them more room in their coop!
So It begins...

Well, I have to have my fav. Breed to breed and show.. Right.... So ... Here come the blue giant cochin chicks. They need to be apart from the others... so I need another addition
And so here it is..











Ok, This is how I spent my summer. As a school teacher I will not have anymore time to keep building starting in two weeks!!! I
think for my safety from the other half, this is a good thing! Now I just need to put the last touches on everything and prepare for the winter!!

For a guy that has never built anything.... They cam out alright!!!!
Id love to see other peoples coops! so send away if you'd like.
I love my birds and am happy to be right back into the swing of it!

So I think today I will start with siding and paint.... Will it ever end... Lol I hope not! I am going to try to get the house to mach the human house.!
