I successfully hatched my first wild eastern turkey eggs... 8 out of 10! I ordered 15 eggs online but 5 never developed.

One egg stopped developing after a couple weeks, but the second egg was fully developed. The egg pipped, but it was not able to hatch for whatever reason. I intervened too late. Regardless, I am thrilled with the 8! We can only legally keep 6 of any wild species here in Arkansas, so Grandma (who lives down the road) will actually acquire a couple turkeys

They are all eating and drinking fine, though one is a bit "lazy". We're keeping an eye on him. they are absolutely beautiful and I've already fallen in love with these guys!

My one little "lazy" poult has come right out of it. I think maybe it just took him longer to recover from being hatched. They're all getting bigger and stronger each day. I have them in the brooder with some older Polish chicks and everyone gets along fine.

Is there any special treats I can give them?

Congratulations!

Make sure you are feeding them a high-protein feed (24-26%) -- they need more protein than chickens, to survive. Many use gamebird starter.
