My first batch of chicks

I'm so excited, been waiting for this for over a year! I got my first chicks today (Feb 27,2021). Went to a hatchery about 20 mins away. I got 1 black copper Maran, 2 wheaten, 2 Colombian rock, 1 lavender australorp, 1 buff orphangton and 2 buff polish. I will be getting 2 olive egger and 2 silkies coming next week.

They are getting so big. So I went to get the 2 silkies and she said oh a woman was supposed to pick up some but never came, if you buy 7 I'll give it to you for the price of 5. .... I absolutely know what chicken math is now lol. But I'm just wondering if that is just a tactic to get me to buy more. Oh well. I have know 21 in total. .
I got more olive egger since I know for sure that one of the big ones is a boy.
My first batch is already close to 5 weeks unfortunately nobody is outside yet...... we had a blizzard on April 13th. It snowed for 3 days straight....

I didnt believe in chicken math until I ended up with 20 chicks within my first year

I see at least 3 cockerels in that last picture. Are you planning on keeping all of them or rehoming? Chicken math may hit you way harder if you decide to keep them all

Yes I believe there are 4 , the polish is one and already crowing..... if I can't give them away, I will cull them. My neighbor does it and has all the equipment. I would love to keep them all but with the stories about them fighting and hurting ppl. I'm not taking any chances.

We just got 6 chicks. Our cat is 2 closed doors from the chicks. I know what she can do it baby birds. Just keep an eye...
