My first BC Marans chick, and it is YELLOW??

My BC, Blue and Wheaton Marans are hatching and the first one is out of the shell. I will get pictures later when it is dryed off a little.
The shell was a very dark one and there was no mark from the breeder on the shell. She marked the Wheatons with a "W" and the blues with a "B". She left the BC without a mark. Wll, this little guy is feather legger, ok fine, and yellow. Shouldn't a Black Copper chick be black?

OK we have a second chick and it is black. The shell on the right is the one the yellow one came out of and the shell on the left had the black chick. Both shells look the same to me. What color do you think the yellow chick might be? (I mean when it grows up

)

I am betting the yellow one is a wheaten. The other is for sure a BC hope you get some more beauties to come out of those eggies for you soon.

Yup, the yellow one is a Wheaten Marans and they are gorgeous! Have fun with them.

Do you mean regular Wheaton? Not Blue Wheaton. I have some blue Wheatons in also. They have not hatched yet.

I want some BLUE coppers. Copper Marans is an amazingly stunning breed. I think they originated in France, the ones with the feathered legs.
