Nice egg... I have Cuckoo Marans too! They lay the darkest brown eggs, and will be of large size once they are done being pullets.
I've never heard them called Copper Black Marans before? Congrats! Shawna

I saw some cuckoo maran (with no s) pullets on CL for sale for $50 each!!!!!

Maran is the breed, but there are different color varieties. The French cuckoo maran is barred with feathered legs, while the English has clean legs (could be wrong on that, maybe the Frenchies have clean legs)

Black C. Marans are rare! Where did you get urs?

I think Marans is always spelled with the S even when its singular.

Oh I cannot wait until I my Black Coppers start to lay,mine are still young.
My Cuckoos should be laying soon though.
I think you and me have the same line of Coppers if I remember an older thread correctly.

Huge congrats on your first eggs from your fabulous chickens! We got our first egg ever yesterday, and so I want another one to go with it.

Ours isn't as dark or handsome as yours, but we are still just as proud.
