My first Black Copper Marans egg! PIC!

I have my fingers crossed that my two FBCM hens will lay beautiful cocoa colored eggs soon-- they are only 23 wks old..not looking for anything for another 7 or 8 weeks.. Your egg is so pretty.. Pictures and age please!

Congrats on the egg. It's beautiful. I guess my Marans may be laying too. I thought the egg would have a darker shell. I've got Isa Browns that lay brown eggs & I noticed that there are a couple different shades of brown in my basket. Haven't seen a Maran coming out of a nest box yet. It's always an Isa or SLW, lighter tan egg, or my White Leghorn white eggs.

If I want to hatch something I have to buy eggs 'cause I don't have a roo to fertilize anybody at the moment. Another good broody for me is my Buff Orpington.
I DO have an immature Black Jersey Giant which I'm going to try and hatch eggs from a cross between him and this big White Rock that I have. Does anybody know what that cross might bring?
