Sooo, we are starting to expect our oldest of this years chicks to start laying soon. And now they are starting to!!! I am so excited about this. I am not sure who the proud new layers are, but I am cheering them on to keep up the good work. I promise you all, the smallest egg with a stripe is indeed an egg. Odd to have a stripe, I know, but I am always telling my girls they are all unique individuals and I love them all. Guess they are expressing their individuality.

Wow. Looks like something out of Dr. Seuss. What kinda hens you got laying now?
I've got some EEs just starting to lay and so far have had some olive and pink eggs about the size of your blue green, perhaps a little smaller but none the size nor especially the color of your small purple one!

I have EE's and/or BO's that are becoming of laying age. The tiny one I found on the ground of the chicken tractor instead of in the nest box. The blue-green was in the nest box. So... not sure who laid the tiny one, but if I were to guess I would say it was laid by a BO(going only on physical appearance of comb and wattles compared to the others). The brown ones are laid by my black australorps. I love how wonderful they lay for me.

Thanks so much!!!

I probably took a million shots just for one I was happy with. Thank goodness for digital - or I would be spending tons of money on processing!!! How did we ever do it before digital and all that makes posting pictures so easy now?
