My first broody chicks with pics

My unknown breed bantam hen has been broody forever, so I put eight dark Brahma eggs under her. Today is day #19 and look! All eight hatched, and I have a nice bite on my hand for checking!

how long had she been pateintly waiting for? LOL

our standard cochin hen had been sitting for almost 7 weeks, on a total of two clutches of eggs, her first clutch one baby hatched, but died, then this clutch, 6, well a total of 8 chicks hatched out of 12 eggs, but two were killed by other hens

her six babies are 5 days old today.

I had my first chick from a broody the other day too. Found him wandering around the pen so had to put him in the brooder since the two hens setting would not leave their nests.

Broody since March!!! Yes, she definitely earned those babies. So cute!
