My first broody hen

I took her out of the nest and she seems reluctant to move, just sits flat and screams/bites me. She also plucked some feathers out in the nest. I put mealworms in front of her (her favorite) and she won't touch them.

Do you have a dog cage? Just set it up with food and water, no litter. I leave the floor in but some people like to remove it leaving wire floor so air can flow under the hen better. Either way, I find leaving her in for a minimum of 3 days does the trick. If she's just started her broodiness it's going to be easier than if she's been allowed to be broody for like say a week. After 3 days let her out and watch her. If she goes back to broody start again.

Sounds broody to me. Either set her up to hatch or break her as described here.

I always put food and water close to nesting box so mine don't starve. Mine usually get off nest at least once a day for a few minutes.

Good idea when setting up for a hatching.
When breaking a broody I put water and food inside the doorway of the dog cage.

You don't want it too close,
they should have to get up and take a few steps to eat/drink/POOP!!

She has to get up to get it and then she walks outside to POOP
