I came back from vacation and I have a new baby chick! I usually try to discourage broodiness but this one slipped! I have 1 other hen on 3 eggs in that coop also, the chick belongs to my Buff Daisy. The 3 seem fine together. I put food and water and closed the coop door for now, but my rooster and 1 other hen roosts at night in that coop also. Tonight they are roosting outside with the 3 other hens and ducks, I think they will be fine for a few days. I need to leave again for a 3 days. I don't know if I should keep the coop closed or open? Daisy is high on the pecking order and seems to be protecting the chick but I don't know how the other 3 hens and ducks will take to this chick? I would hate to come back and find the chick lost or worst. So its either lock them up or hope for the best? any advice? Its so hard to see the chick in this pic but is it a few days old or older?
