My first Chicken coop

I like it too, I'd be tempted to place solar panels on top and point to the South, store and use the energy for lighting.

Our neighbor's dog ate several of my chickens, so I have them confined to the coops now. The problem with this coop in the picture is that too feed them, you end of letting them out. So, we attached our Dog Pen coop to this one. We made a little "tunnel" out of wire and now they can walk into the dog pen, and their food and water is in the dog house. The roosts are nest boxes are in the coop in the picture, so it all works out. I can get into the dog pen and feed and water without letting them all out. It's nice to have a safe place for them when we travel too, which isn't often, but happens. My heated chicken fountain is a tad tricky to fill, but it's keeping the water ice free!

Im sorry for your loss. I had the same issue here back in the summer. Is the neightbor doing anything about the dog?

My husband and I tried to build a chicken coop a couple of years ago. After figuring out the cost of materials and labor time, we decided to go with already a built one. We had this chicken coop for a year now. So far didn't have any problems with it. We both like it, and our birds seem to like it too. I think it was worth the money spent. We can move it around the yard easily too.
