Our chicken coop arrived today!
It is the largest coop (36 chicken, 8' x 12' x 4') from Ranch Coops out of Quinlan, Texas
It has 4 double nesting boxes with egg doors on each end.
There was a very level spot to put it near but not under a nice oak tree and we only found two spots that we need to worry about (so far).
Regardless, we plan to put wire mesh around the outside to keep digging predators out.
We plan on trying the deep litter method to start since the location of the coop is pretty sandy and doesn't hold water.
I've even sowed them a little greens garden near the coop with lettuce, spinach, etc.
It has been approved for use by our outdoor cat who I found asleep in it this afternoon.
Can't wait to see what the chickens think of it.
