My Easter egger(labeled AmerACANA at tractor supply), Denmark, laid her first egg this morning! That means she laid her first egg at 18 weeks and 5 days! I’m so surprised!

She was making a huge racket this morning until I came and sat by the chicken run. Then she did the cutest thing and started picking up bits of shavings and straw and putting it on her back and taking it into the nesting box. I had a nesting pad in there already but I guess it wasn’t plush enough?

The egg is small, but I know it’ll get larger as she does. I’m just happy it’s solid, well formed and a beautiful beige green color! I might need to paint my kitchen cabinets this color lol!

The other two EEs have a long way to go but at least one girl is paying her rent!

I’m just so shocked because after reading so many threads on here, I had resigned myself to waiting until 6 or even 8 months to see a single egg!
That's so awesome and it's a beautiful egg! Just like Tulipmasteer, I felt discouraged by reading how long people wait for their EEs and Barred Rocks to lay. Mine are 13 weeks so hopefully I'll get some eggs soon!
