It was really rather impromptu, a neighbor down the road has this pair, the cockral was being picked on by the other roosters so we built a quick shelter for them and brought them home. I never really considered D'uccles as a breed I really wanted but my BF fell in love with their feet, and how could anyone say no?

Only thing--- you should probably get another hen for your girly. But make sure it's her size!

OMG!!!! I saw your post to say congrats-saw the first pic and was surprised-I'm fairly new to chickens-got some new chicks in the spring and had gotten one they werent sure what kind-I took her and thats exactly what she looks like now-now I know what kind she is and on top of that I named her Millie-lol !! They are beautiful and so gentle !!!! So Congats and I learned something new - I Love This Forum !!!!!

I'm definatly planning on getting more! There's a shed I want to convert into a coop soon and I plan on ordering the cheaper leftovers from a hatchery just to see how they fair free ranging out here
