I'm so excited! They're all alive! I found them on my porch when I got home from work 😬.
I ordered a Black Ameraucana, a Blue Cuckoo Legbar, & a Green Queen EE from My Pet Chicken. I've got them in a groovy chick tent to keep them safe. They're so soft, cute & snuggly! Pecking their chick starter & peeping enthusiastically as they run around. Hilarious! I'm so happy!

Soo cute 🥰
I can’t wait to incubate some eggs
What are your thoughts on the chick tent? I’m considering using a tent when my next batch hatches

I'm really pleased so far. I have children & cats & a dog so I wanted something that doesn't have a propped on roof like most of the homemade brooders do. The top zips open for easy cleaning access & there's a zipper door on the side with Velcro to hold it open when I want that. I zip the door closed, leaving a little gap for the heater cord. It's pretty sturdy canvas & mesh with a frame inside. It folds up for storage. It's big enough to use as a hospital if a grown hen needs isolation for treatment later. I believe I'll get a lot of use out of it. Happy to answer any specific questions or post more pictures if you like 🤗

Yeah it looks like a good idea, I mostly used wooden and cardboard brooders that chicks outgrow fast and are a nightmare to clean, let me know how hard it is to clean the tent

I used a tent too for my 9 littles. It was pretty easy to clean but I put down puppy pads first, then bedding so that helped a lot! Definitely recommend. It was much better than the other ways I used to keep chicks.

I cut trash bags to line it, then a large piece of heavy paper, then bedding. My strategy for the stratification is to never need to clean poop off the tent. Maybe unnecessary, but here I go.
